Light pollution Grazing light Energy for wall lighting that does not benefit you on the terrace and at the house entrance Use nice lamps that only shine where you need it, e.g. seating area on the terrace, front door, step in front. In a warm white, which is also very pleasant for our eyes. To be honest, the terrace lighting is barely on at our place

I admit that we installed Up/Down lamps back then 10 years ago. The gable was built that way on purpose. By now, I am wiser; it’s about light pollution and so on. We have now given up garden and pathway lighting as compensation. Because of the hedgehogs and other creatures. For the entrance, there are also commonly available ones with motion and dusk sensors. On the terrace, there is an LED light on the table. But I think you definitely want those Up/Down things. You can easily find such things on Google.. However, I would forego the claim of "especially bright." On the one hand, it’s really not nice to have the brightest house in an area (it doesn’t mean the brightest bulb), and on the other hand, you don’t really have such a nice and smooth plaster, so you actually emphasize the orange peel texture of the house even more.

Hue Appear and Hue Resonate are not particularly bright, but they can be dimmed very darkly. However, they are quite expensive, and the installation is an imposition for the price.

We imagined that too. Since we moved in, we haven't turned on the spots even once. Absolutely unnecessary in hindsight. The photo was taken during the construction phase. Our exterior plaster allows for it, but still. Our spots are from ssc-Luxon. WLAN integrated and virtually stepless color control from bright white (6000K) to dark purple. Also realized afterwards, it was nonsense...

No, not at all. I am very happy about the food for thought. We have planned two lights to the right and left of the front door and two lights to the right and left of our sliding lift door to the terrace. I assumed that bright lamps would be useful for both purposes. At the front door to be able to see who is ringing in the evening, and at the terrace because our table with chairs will be directly in front of the sliding lift door. We thought bright lighting would be useful there. But maybe we just lack the right inspirations. What lamps have you used for the two areas?

It also always depends on the architectural design of the respective area. For example, in my case the entrance area is set back a bit, so there is an approx. 120cm canopy. Therefore, I installed a very simple and very flat square ceiling lamp with a dusk sensor and motion detector. It only works at dusk/darkness. It dims the light after switching on for a certain time before it turns off. However, it can also be set as a night light, so that it could shine at x % (no idea how low exactly) in the dark.
