Google: Gas instantaneous water heater caravan --> x results. Costs about 200-300 euros.

You don't have to operate such a device with electricity......and as a former circus wagon, there will be a gas cylinder container + gas line.

An instantaneous water heater that serves a shower must heat at least 6-8 liters of water per minute, which may be 5° in winter, to 42°. 6-8 liters per minute! That obviously requires a lot of energy. Look at the technical specifications of such devices.

Yes, that is exactly why I do not want an instantaneous water heater, because a boiler obviously does not require such performance. I just never really know how much this boiler should hold. And that is what this thread is about for me.

I have. Very extensively! You can assume that I have good reasons.

It is not a "former" circus wagon. It is a new build (see first post). And it is also not a question OF whether the device can be powered by electricity. I could easily operate a 2000 liter boiler. Unfortunately, there is not enough space for that. I can fit a maximum of 200 liters inside. However, I would prefer it to be even less... I am just not sure how much capacity should be present as a minimum..

OK. Boiler solution.

Let's simply assume 10l/minute while showering.
Each (two people) shower for 5 minutes (thoroughly). Results in 100l. Plus some reserve.
Estimated necessary = 120 l.

Hello Michael,
the Swedish waterworks formula calculates with a shower time of 5 min. /person with 8 ltr./min.
This is generally accepted and also the basis of our standards.

i.e. 2 persons x 5 min. x 8 ltr. = 80 ltr. a horizontal tank has a draw-off factor of 0.8 due to temperature stratification - vertical 0.9.

desired shower temperature should be 38° (assumption). that results in 100 ltr. storage temperature.

Since the water should be about 60° to be grease-dissolving during washing and to reduce legionella
a storage tank of 56 ltr. with horizontal arrangement results.

chosen tank 50 ltr. at a storage temperature of 66°.
With very hard water, 60° should not be exceeded, otherwise the heating elements will scale heavily. When choosing the tank, you have to see what the manufacturer offers. The electric connection power is usually adjustable from 2 - 4 - 6 kW, whereby I recommend 2 kW. The heating time from 10 to 60 is then about 1.5 hours.
This way 2 people can shower one after the other, with good comfort - I wish you lots of fun and joy.
