We would have liked to do that and my neighbor is building with Rötzer and we had also considered it, but in the end it wasn’t for us. We are a bit more expensive for the one who builds second: but nothing tragic.

Unfortunately, we ended up with a plot that is too large for a single-family house and we are including my parents as well :) hence the strange version.

My father comes from civil engineering and he has some skepticism about the selection of companies by the architect, because they mostly build with companies they already know, which is not bad in itself, but maybe not entirely a "free" decision. Therefore we are looking ourselves with the finished plan/specifications :)

The wording was poorly chosen, I was rather hoping for experience reports, which unfortunately could not be found like that in the forum and on the internet.

Yep, because this comparison doesn’t exist. No one builds rows of houses with a variety of construction companies. We all want to build ecologically, but this is often only possible with compromises due to the costs. How much do you want to spend?

I was talking about planning and construction management, not about choosing the same construction company. If possible, I would start in a coordinated manner (and consider benevolently using the same basement builder as "the other twin"). But include the basement in the contract with the house builder (unless you do not follow my advice to also have the architect manage the construction). Planning, tendering (also gladly involving general contractors, and the timber frame panel builders are nothing different) and construction management are best all in the same hand. Has the architect already worked with all five mentioned companies (and why then do you lack assessments about them)?

We don’t really have a budget since we are taking a shell house and doing the rest cheaply, but if you have to quantify it, max. 400,000 planned for the shell house and then about 250,000 for the interior finishing, with a lot done as DIY.
