Bending-resistant base plate driven over by truck in less than 1 day

They have distributed the stones all around the house. Unfortunately also behind it... if the earthmover had already finished, there would have been more space. To drive onto the slab, there was a pile of sand in front of it that he could drive up on. So I guess I have to live with the uneasy conscience....I really think it's a disgrace :-(

Hello again,

somehow the base slab just won't let us rest. The builder doesn't seem willing to confirm that the load with the truck was harmless for the concrete. Unfortunately, our building expert has left us somewhat in the lurch here. I don't have more than one report on this.

(We have similar crap now with the ceiling as well. Poured at 3 p.m., the bricks were placed on it at 7 a.m. the next day (luckily no truck could drive on there!). Our building expert even witnessed this)

Nevertheless, since we are not getting a confirmation from the builder and meanwhile the roof structure is already up because everything is happening so quickly, we are considering having an expert report made for the base slab. Can someone with experience say something about the costs for that? I would set a deadline for the builder to respond, and if he does not react by then, have the report made at his expense or withhold the costs from the final payment.

The only question is whether I am allowed to do that.

That turned out badly. A truck carrying collapses has no business on the fresh base slab, I see that the same way as you. What puzzled me was that the problem begins with your coordination of the earthworks. Your developer has a personnel and machinery deployment plan, which you have "challenged" multiple times. He will probably not think so highly of you as a client anymore, I am sure of that. Unfortunately, not a good start. I wish you that your house will still turn out well.

With the blanket, I can reassure you. It was the same with us regarding the stones and also with acquaintances. Two days later, they even had the roof truss in place, with tiles already partially on the roof.

Yes, the ceiling is completely normal, and it is also normal that the basement is concreted one day after the base slab. What is not normal is driving a truck on it. Whether it damages it, I am not sure. I would not feel comfortable with that either.

And where do you think the problem is? That’s perfectly fine! Relax and let the people do their work.
