You can certainly demand that. And if your shell builder agrees to it, the crew will then be working on another construction site for at least a month. Maybe even longer. And you can also save yourself any discussions about a missed construction deadline if you, as the client, cause the delay.

How long beforehand did your construction supervisor know that an important acceptance was scheduled for this week? Did he receive a tentative schedule from you? So if he is already on vacation and this acceptance is scheduled for that week, then that is really unfortunate – and most of all for you. Then all you can do is take extensive photo documentation that your inspector can review, and if they find anything, you are still powerless. In short: such an overlap MUST NOT happen.

Are there "actually" tips/tricks/focus areas for construction acceptance where you almost always find something, possibly not really obvious?

I also want to avoid that shortly before the acceptance appointment something is spruced up with an "anti-mold paint" or similar, or openings/coverings remain closed until I then years later.....
