Bathtub in the bedroom - what do you think about that?

This is not about a piece of furniture.

Nice!

Well, I’m not the family expert here, but I really wonder why people have children. Even the choice of words invites reflection.

The area is large, but due to the door positions, it is difficult to use. That’s how we originally planned it. Then I became unsure whether the bathroom is too "small" compared to the bedroom. Swapping rooms is not an option because of the walking paths.

Please no discussion about whether a bathtub should be freely accessible and usable for children at all times. We have decided that the bathtub will be placed in the parents' area. Whether that is in the bathroom or the bedroom now makes little difference.

I personally do not find the bathroom too small for the bathtub. Is the area in front of the bathroom and the bedroom a hallway? If yes, does the wall from the hallway to the bathroom already exist? If the wall does not yet exist, I would create a niche for the shower in this wall towards the bottom of the plan, making the bathtub area somewhat more spacious.

Dear ypg,

I have 2 wonderful daughters, the third child is on the way, a fourth or fifth is not excluded. I am, apparently in contrast to you, quite the "family type" and like probably every other parent, I bust my proverbial ass to give my "offspring" a wonderful childhood full of love and without material hardship.
Nevertheless – or maybe precisely because of that – I believe that children also need boundaries, and if one of my children came up with the incredibly stupid idea to enter our bedroom at night after a disco visit to enjoy a bath there, I would make that very clear to them! You are entitled to your personal opinion about that, but unfortunately, that does not make your "argument" any more substantial.

So before you next think about confronting me argumentatively in the form of strange insinuations ad personam (especially regarding my parenthood), you better go have another coffee before you hit the reply button.

Don't find the bathroom too small. Can you move the door to the bedroom? Then the bathroom can become a bit bigger.
