Good day,

we have bought a house from the year 1998. We want to renovate the bathroom now. Our ideas are: walk-in shower, corner bathtub, standard toilet, standard washbasin and a mirror about 1.50 x 0.80m approx. 300€. The room is 11 sqm. We would remove the old tiles ourselves. The new tiles cost about 25€ per sqm (which we like). It should only be tiled halfway up the wall. Only in the shower up to the ceiling. The corner bathtub we like costs about 400€.

Can someone estimate an approximate price? I know you can spend infinite money on the bathroom, but we don’t need anything luxurious.

My budget is actually about 10,000€. Realistic? Many thanks!

What are you planning to contribute as your own effort?

As written above, I could break out the old tiles and dismantle the old sink and toilet. I do not dare to lay tiles myself. I would definitely need support for that. And I would have the installation of the underfloor heating, bathtub, and shower done by an expert.

It should actually be doable with 10,000 EUR and some personal effort. Of course, using bathroom furniture from the sanitary exhibition can also be significantly more expensive, as I experienced myself. By the way, you don’t necessarily have to choose a fixed glass shower wall in the bathroom exhibition. Mine came from the glazier and the stainless steel fittings from the metalworker, who the bathroom planner/plumber confidently brought on board. That also saves a bit. I also did the non-tiled walls myself, maybe you could do that too.

Exactly, we would do the un-tiled area ourselves. We can still manage that.

I think you should be able to manage with your budget.
