and the long corridor is no problem nowadays with underfloor heating. Just recently both grandchildren were with us and spent the whole time building with the Duplo bricks in the corridor. That is living space. And if I have to shuffle three meters seventy from the bathroom to the bedroom in such a small house, then I’ll probably still manage that, my parents used to go to the outhouse to the toilet in their childhood, I also remember my childhood without a bathroom and hot water. Build the thing, there is always something. And get used to washing your face with a mirrored cabinet, it actually works, and then you also have a bit more storage space. Karsten

There are certainly nicer things than playing with building blocks in the hallway.
Besides, it’s simply a shame about the space: with 109 sqm, 20% of the total living area or an area larger than the children’s room is reserved just for passageways.
But if is fine with it, that’s okay.
Otherwise, I give you the tip to measure your furniture and draw it to scale. With a square living room, you can’t avoid doing that, because the appearance of the drawn furniture can be deceiving ;)

Either the hallway is a hallway. Or the living room becomes the hallway. Because running around always happens. So then please not always through the rooms. I do not like the Danish open-plan living.

Then you just do something yourself. Freely adapted from the Bremen Town Musicians: you can find something better than the standard floor plan anywhere :-)
