A bit more information could help. How deep is the staircase? Is the thing built up all around? The cover of 50cm width is unusual. Is the wall inside also tiled?

Where do you see a 50 cm wide cover? – I don’t even see a staircase, just the top three steps, and otherwise an improvised site fall protection at the edge of a crater of a first-class DIY disaster. Are the pictures supposed to document the destructive power a Binford 6100 rotary hammer can unleash when wielded by a Tim Taylor imitator?How deep is the staircase? Is the thing built up all around? Yes, the staircase is also tiled on the inside. See picture. Nice that you (now!) also show a picture where you can actually see the mentioned stairs. I was not speaking disparagingly – the picture of the devastation really looks exactly like the kind of massacre that DIYers cause with mega turbo power tools when they don't have a co-moderator Albert Borland ;-)Yes, the stairs are also tiled on the inside.
