DIN is 80cm, meaning WC width plus 20cm on each side, we have that as well and I am not cramped at 185cm and a fighting weight of over 100kg.

Not bad your version, if you do without the bidet.

Personally, in this case I would also place the toilet on the left wall. Normally, 25 cm is recommended on the left/right of the toilet, but you really shouldn't go below 20 cm.

If you then extend the masonry wall of the shower a bit longer, it still won't be enough as a pure walk-in solution. I would actually consider a door there, but leave it as a masonry wall for the towel radiator or something similar. The wall next to the toilet then at e.g. 120 cm and glass above would loosen up the whole thing and provide light.

I like it :)

Washing machine on the sleeping floor is exactly the right idea. That saves you more time and effort, like when cleaning the shower door.

If you don’t want to clean a shower door, there is always the option of a shower curtain, which occasionally goes into the washing machine, in case the wall is not enough.

Our wall is about 140 long. For me it’s enough, for my husband it’s not.

Thank you very much. I can extend the wall for the shower to 1.35m without making the toilet too tight. However, in this configuration, it can’t go much further. Wouldn’t the slope of the tiles at the entrance area towards the shower drain help with the splash water to prevent the bathroom from flooding?

We also really like the idea of the wash niche. If it works out with the downpipes, that would be great. One of the children's rooms would then probably fall from 17.7sqm of floor space to around/just under 17sqm, but it’s worth it. We’re thinking up to 1.50m wide and 0.70m deep. Everything will fit in there, and the space situation in the ground floor bathroom and utility room will relax.

Best regards

Morning. Quickly sketched the niche into the floor plan. This way, the two children's rooms (left side) have exactly the same floor plan, just mirrored. Very nice. The idea to place the washing machine there is quite ingenious and we like it very much. The Google image search also brought up a nice photo of such a niche. We can very well imagine it. We will pass it on and have it incorporated. Steffen

The basic idea is certainly not bad, we ourselves also have a dedicated utility room on the first floor where the laundry is done, but in the rather small size as shown...? And exactly between the two children's rooms, I don't know :(

I assume that the niche room is too small for effective use (with 5 people) and ultimately the hallway will be used in practice for "all the stuff." It is also less pleasant to play or sleep in the children's room when the machine is running at full speed...

You also need a storage room upstairs to be able to put away a broom, ironing board, etc. Should all that fit into the niche?
