Attach quarter sliding curtains to IKEA Pax frame

Hello dear Ikea fans!

I bought several Pax carcasses and would like to close them with sliding curtains. I would like to attach the rail directly to the cabinet, not to the ceiling or wall. Do you have any experience with this? I searched everywhere on the internet, but either normal curtains were used or the Kvartal system was attached to the ceiling.
Can the cabinet hold if I screw the fittings into the cabinet, or will the veneer peel off?
