Try to relax a bit. Take the risks seriously, but also try to see them realistically.

But the company's offer was only 4,000 euros, right? Laying a new cheap floor in the basement (if even necessary, many are fine with just the screed) is a great thing to do yourself. And 36m2 doesn't cost much material.
