Just breathe calmly through your pants. Even though since 1972 probably 33 residents have died of cancer, it's not that bad ;-)
Asbestos is harmless as long as it does not crumble or is processed/used in a way that asbestos fibers are released, which you then have to inhale. Only the fibers are the problem (due to the extremely unfavorable fiber geometry – asbestos itself is not toxic or dangerous. That's why it is often simply built in, as it is then harmless.
What happens in your basement, except that there may be asbestos under the top layer? Nothing. You just walk over it. Or do you produce fibers with every step? Are you working on the floor?
You are simply irrationally hysterical. Nothing more. Sorry.
So you think that even if it is asbestos, and the material at the edges slightly detaches from the substrate, it can remain in place? I would like to do that, since it’s only a basement!
But the expert who was here said that because of the edges it is no longer intact and should be removed! Hence the question.
The basement is 36 sqm, 5 sqm of which concern the minimally raised edge, the rest of the basement has (intact) baseboards.
