Good evening,
About 3 years ago, I removed the carpets with foam backing in my apartment, which was built in 1982/83, and the kitchen floor, a type of vinyl. Floating parquet was laid over it, and the baseboards were taped off.
I did not consider that the carpet, adhesive, or vinyl might contain asbestos. Now, three years later, I realize that I was quite careless in tearing out and scraping everything back then.
I would now like to find out whether I released asbestos at that time or if asbestos is still coming up into the room air under the new floor.
I still have exactly one piece of carpet remnant with adhesive. However, different carpets were installed....
I found out on the internet that dust samples (stamps) or material samples can be taken. However, I would prefer not to tear up the newly laid floor again. I am also mainly interested in whether there is an acute risk in the current situation. Therefore, I would like to have your opinion on how you would proceed to clarify the matter.
Thank you very much.
