During the house-building process, one imagines a lot and often thinks a few steps ahead. While still talking about the foundation and utilities, mentally one is already at the decoration stage.
We still have a large, almost empty wall of 2.50 x 2.50 m in the kitchen, and I would like to place a painting there. Canvas, not necessarily framed, but that is also fine. Preferably vertical, maybe about 1.20 m wide and nicely tall.
Where could one find affordable paintings nowadays? And I’m not talking about valuable or collector’s items. It can be unknown, also "off the shelf," but preferably oil. Are there good places online for this?
We were once lucky and found a hand-painted picture on eBay (photo attached). 1 meter x 1 meter, oil – and the flower wreath was made of crumpled newspaper. I never understood the artistic message, but we really like the look. Unfortunately, it only fits in the current kitchen; the new one will be more modern and black-and-white. We still have to find a new place for it.
