Are venetian blinds legally considered part of the exterior plaster?

Hi,

Actually, I shouldn’t respond to such comments with much more than a "plonk," but here is a clarification:
it’s not directly about the money (although the general contractor also held out his hand for a lot of small stuff, he practically begged for the backlash), but about a lever to motivate the general contractor to kick his unfortunately extremely slow site manager in the ass, who’s been dragging for two months now, so that he wakes up again and does his job. Last Thursday he was just about to be kicked off the site by me.
But that’s another story...

We can now unnecessarily not really use the living room for months because the privacy screen is missing. We already see this as a massive impairment of usability.
Folding screens are a nice idea, but with a small child who loves to pull and push everything everywhere, it’s really not an option.
On top of that, I have significant extra costs because I can no longer gravel the driveway, prepare terraces, and do the essential landscaping work all in one go. No one pays me for the multiple trips of the excavator either.

That’s really annoying, especially since, like us, we have been pushing for the start of the exterior insulation work since the beginning of August, and it only starts in October. The situation we have now is as unnecessary as anything...

Best regards,

Andreas

Good evening Andreas,

Please don’t be silly! If you said you can’t walk naked through the living room, I would agree; you can definitely use it.

Then put something outside the window. Because ...

... you can essentially forget about these jobs with the current weather conditions anyway.

Have you already talked to your provider about this issue?

That’s probably true; but complaining about it longer won’t change the status quo ;)

Rhenish regards

That the house will now stand with scaffolding over the winter because the builder or the site manager is a slowpoke is annoying. But it can happen. The what-ifs and buts happen on every construction site, and if we were all alone as customers/builders, we would all move in earlier than on time :)
Your opinion on the (non-)use of the living room is totally exaggerated:
Imagine, there are still windows without blinds, shutters, or opaque venetian blinds – even in upscale residential construction.
And without curtains, almost everyone sits on a display plate in their new home for the first few weeks if they wanted to move in before Christmas. That’s no reason to get upset.

I think you’re basically annoyed with the builder/site manager and are now trying to shine with this exaggerated argument.
And yes, "But that's a different story"!
Enjoy the new home and look forward to furnishing it and unpacking various boxes including new decorations – no one will copy you that quickly ;)

Cheers

Even if it may not be the only point of annoyance, it does bother the builder somewhat and is therefore worth seeking a remedy. Besides, who can explode completely silently anyway.

If privacy is more important than the view, one could perhaps temporarily apply a matte film with modest effort. It comes off easily afterwards and one could possibly leave the top third clear. Hope you find a solution that can reasonably meet your needs!
