Are the additional costs for lime plaster instead of gypsum plaster realistic?

Exactly... I have 2 walls smooth... That would then probably be Q3 for repainting/wallpapering

I had the rest done structured for various reasons, including cost reasons...

We did not have the walls completely smoothed because, in this case, we preferred the more affordable option. The clay plaster is from Lesando. It is dyed throughout in the desired color. Lesando offers a range of additives that can be incorporated. We chose a straw additive. The walls have turned out beautifully. The combination of an inexpensive "painted wall" and a higher-quality plaster wall is a good idea.

Where does the general aversion to gypsum plaster in (lay) forums actually come from?

That is misleading. 99% here will have gypsum plaster, but the discussion about alternatives just attracts its supporters.

I am not writing against gypsum, but in favor of clay. My subjective feel-good factor is the yardstick. Gypsum also regulates moisture if you don’t smother it. Gypsum also does not shrink. Still: consider clay.

probably exactly because we (in this case ME) are laymen and possibly fall for the sales arguments (although I can’t really say that anyone tried to sell it to us). It is increasingly being promoted that they are more breathable and moisture-regulating. Then there’s always this magic word "mineral." We have now specifically questioned the additional costs for us. They come from the fact that the material is somewhat more expensive and, on the other hand, the plaster is applied in 2 layers (so more labor). In addition, this variant would be executed in Q3 (instead of Q2). We have now talked to many other homeowners again. Most younger ones and actually all homeowners around the age of my parents have gypsum and are doing well with it. In the end, I think it is always a matter of weighing options. For us, the extra cost is simply too high, so we are sticking with gypsum.
