One more different aspect: Since roller shutters are only closed at night, they act as additional insulation due to the extra air cushion, especially during the period of the highest temperature difference. According to a study, this can save up to 12% on heating costs. And to avoid the annoying raising and lowering, I would take electric ones... (with my 18 pieces that would also be extremely annoying)

On the other hand, one must also fairly say that interior roller shutter boxes are always thermal bridges. Are the conditions mentioned for the 12% savings in the study? I can imagine that with old single glazing. But not with modern windows!

Oh yes, I still don’t understand the different options for the roller shutter box and am waiting for clarification from the provider. If anyone knows a source with hard facts about the different energy impacts of roller shutters and roller shutter boxes, I would like to hear about it.

I don’t remember exactly what the reason was, but 2 window installers (including my uncle) as well as our architect all recommended the [Vorbaurollladen] to us. I believe they are better both thermally and in terms of accessibility for repairs. We will therefore use [Vorbaurollladen unter Putz].
