Okay, I decided on 16/22. According to the quarry, this is the best-selling for drainage. But I have another problem. Maybe the opinion of would be interesting here, since he has dealt with this intensively.
I picked up a pack of perimeter insulation for about 20 sqm. My contractor (who is doing other work on our renovation) said that the format I bought isn’t good at all (1250 x 625). It would have been better (e.g., to take 270 cm long insulation panels). His reasoning:
[*]Since we are currently going to apply a thick coating (WeberSuperflex 10 2k), it would have to dry before the insulation panels are installed.
[*]After the excavation pit is refilled, settlements can occur that might pull the insulation panels downward. If the insulation panels are glued, it could also pull the bitumen layer along.
Therefore, it would be most sensible to take long insulation panels and only fasten them once at the top at the base (above the soil). Now I am worried about the bitumen layer that still has to be applied. What do you think about this?
Would it possibly be an option to glue two perimeter panels of 1250 x 625 together to 2500 x 625 the night before and process them upright the following day (as the contractor suggested)? In other words, how would I glue the panels sensibly (at the step joint) so that it holds? And would it be no problem to install insulation panels upright?
Best regards
