Thank you very much for the already very helpful answers! @ : We would simply like to have the outdoor area considered in advance and to start it as soon as possible after the house construction. : Good to know! The position of the house and the planning of the outdoor area is probably a chicken-and-egg problem... If an architect can also make the rough plan for the outdoor areas, that is probably the next sensible step. @ : There is a development plan from the 70s. Regarding the outdoor area, there are only restrictions on fences here. Small garages are permitted on the property boundary. I have also uploaded an excerpt from the "Planblatt zum Bebauungsplan." This still shows the buildings that previously stood on the property. In addition, I have created a satellite view with labels of the relevant objects and the line of the outer edges. Basically, there are the following issues on our minds: - Demolish the garage and instead have a garage + carport with a "long" driveway next to the house (=> garden area is "wasted," but more space for the property entrance area) - How can the property entrance area with gate and garden gate be designed? (Possibly set back a bit into the property) - What could the path to the front door look like - Can the roots of the trees damage the paths / garages or the house and how must this be considered in the planning? - Which trees should be removed? For these questions, I think we simply need professional support, which we hopefully find with an architect. If anyone knows a good architect in Nuremberg and the surrounding area, please feel free to contact me :-).

And I thought this was about a cool exterior design. But this is just the simplest run-of-the-mill stuff. Every architect does this just to make their plans look nice.

The building envelope allows little leeway. I would leave the trees standing. That is really a side job for the architect.

I see nothing obstructive in the building envelope. I would also leave the trees standing, and that is indeed not an extra task for a specialist planner. In my opinion, only someone completely insane would tear down the garage. By the way, this is the first time I see a Dahatabereinermitgedacht building envelope. I would consider favorably routing the connections into the house through the presumed outbuilding at the rear end of the garage so that ideally the switch from construction power and construction water to normal operation later would be just a tariff change.

Thanks again for the answers! We were probably a bit biased by the architect services offered by prefabricated house companies, which practically do no exterior planning. Since we now want to have a freelance architect design everything anyway, that fits well!

The idea with the house connections is a good one! We will take that into consideration!

Then we'll start looking for a good architect…

I know that, that's why. The garage also serves as a construction site accommodation and a small parts storage. There is also a contact option in my profile if you need help. Architects are only discussed here by a few. Sometimes, I believe, some are mentioned in the "Erfahrungen mit Hausbaufirmen" section as well.
