I personally don't think the option of renting out (with a fixed term) is bad. If a steady partner wants to move in within 2-3 years, it's relatively easy to arrange.
Don't worry, tax is only on the profit remaining after deducting all costs. But if you don't think so yourself, you should have lived there yourself.
Also, at some point, a partner might come along and move in...
Does it matter how significant his share of the residency is?
I think it has a bit of a flavor like "and for the children, I'd also like to have a mommy again." "I'm marrying a house"
The good fairy lives in the house. The OP doesn't want to move out...Important though: You need someone on site who takes care of the house, does cleaning, etc., a kind of "good fairy" (yes, there are male fairies too!), without that it definitely won't work!
