Hello everyone,

I would like to equip my Ikea kitchen with a countertop height of 100 cm. I have learned that by using the 16cm-Capita legs, one could get higher than the standard plinth height of 8cm and thus achieve a height 8cm higher than 92cm. In the online planner, I can equip all base cabinets with Capita legs (but only 8cm… possibly it has not been integrated in the planner for simplicity reasons), but the dishwasher base cabinet CANNOT be equipped with Capita legs, only with a panel! How should or must I interpret this now? Does this mean I cannot get the dishwasher base cabinet 8cm higher than the standard?

Thank you very much in advance.

Best regards, Chris

The problem is that dishwashers cannot be built into a cabinet. They only stand between the base cabinets and have an ugly base that is usually covered by the toe kick that runs along the entire row. The feet also cannot be screwed out far enough for you to reach a height of 96 cm. (Or with XXL, maybe? You need to check with the manufacturer.) An open base and a built-in dishwasher just don't really go together. Toe kicks for Metod are only 8 cm high. So a DIY solution is needed.

Okay, then I have to really reflect on whether it is really worth it for me.

The covers can be clipped onto the Metod legs, is that also possible with the Capita legs? Possibly, you could simply attach two covers on top of each other, provided the last question is answered affirmatively, of course.

PS: Is there anything fundamental against simply placing the dishwasher on an 8cm thick chipboard?

No, my dishwasher is also standing on a piece of countertop.

Two panels on top of each other won’t really look nice. CAPITA legs are thinner than METOD legs. So you would either have to thicken the CAPITA legs or make suitable brackets yourself.
You could also cut plinth panels from large end panels or use Faktum plinth panels with 25 mm quick clamps for installation pipes, which fit well on CAPITA. With some luck, you can still find FAKTUM plinth panels in a clearance depot, otherwise in the Faktum re-purchase.

Unusual solutions are less suitable if you are not assembling the kitchen yourself.

Hello Chris,
place the dishwasher on a 40 cm high base cabinet.
It is back-friendly and good for loading and unloading.
Regards
