40k are actually enough for stairwell lighting, but not for insulation/renovation.

For me, there are a few explanations here: - the [WEG] is not aware of the issue (still the least bad option) - the [WEG] has already considered the issue and is of the opinion that a renovation is not worthwhile (then you will have high energy costs for a long time) - the [WEG] has already informally discussed it once (with 6 parties, you surely know each other) and found that some owners do not have the money for a major renovation. (very bad)

The third case becomes particularly problematic if renovation obligations come in the next few years.

Thank you very much for your answers.

What sums would we be talking about if a house of this size, for example, had to be renovated to energy class E? Is it possible to roughly estimate that somehow?

Top ceiling = attic or roof? Are the windows also to be replaced with the exterior wall insulation? Depending on what needs to be done, the costs will vary. But they are certainly in the six-figure range.

Don't get hung up on the classes, that suggests a linearity that doesn't exist. When you replace the windows, you don't replace them with new bad windows but with modern good ones. When you insulate the facade, the effort is quite independent of the insulation value, only the material is thicker or better. The question is also whether only the building envelope is renovated or the heating system as well.

For a single-family house, you quickly reach the range of 100k, for a multi-family house accordingly more, although certainly not six times as much. However, you don't renovate from 200 to 180 but rather to 50 kWh/sqm.
