At the bottom of the entrance door to my new apartment, there is a gap that is 14mm wide, allowing strong drafts to enter. The door was installed as part of a new build apartment. I suspect that the professional cut the door too much. I have reported the defect and would like to know if in such a case the door needs to be completely reordered? There is also an installed rubber lip at the bottom which is hanging in the air. Thank you very much for any advice. Regards Jan

I don’t think this is about the same problem as in the other thread, after all, this is about an apartment door. Nothing should be leaking here.

A picture is worth a thousand words. The rubber lip could be interesting...
I would complain about it, just as you did. The remedy of the defect is still pending, or why do you think a new door would be appropriate?

Thank you ypg, I completely agree. The rubber lip is hanging in the air, the defect has not yet been fixed. I have not received a response to my email inquiry from Monday morning, so I have now sent a registered letter with return receipt. I have since found that the steel frame was mounted too high (there is already a gap to the floor), which is why the gap is so large, furthermore, the installed door is not an RC2 door as stated in the purchase contract. As a layman I first informed myself and also complained about it. I hope the company will acknowledge their mistakes and I can avoid legal action.

In case of defects, one should maintain formality: registered letter with a list of defects. Indicate an acceptable deadline for correction with a date specified.

14 days is an acceptable deadline.
