It also depends on whether you do the work yourself (floor coverings, wallpapering, laying cobblestones, etc.) or hire companies for it. We wouldn’t have the money to spend 30k€ and therefore only calculate with the material and then do the work ourselves.

I don’t know how busy you are professionally, but here three guys putty and sand for a week. If I had done that as a DIY project after work, another 3 months would have passed – during which we would have paid double rent. That’s why the calculation with own work doesn’t always add up.
If you have enough acquaintances and/or time, it might work for you.
