What do you want to explain there?

I want heat no more no less.

We can gladly talk about the function of radiation, but for the TE it is absolutely unsuitable.

Explaining because you write that infrared is shxxxx. I disagree with that. It is simply completely unsuitable for your case. In other situations, an infrared heater is perfect. And that is why I think you were just poorly advised.

Heating with electricity is always worse than alternatives! So no perfect solution.

A garage is also supposed to be heated here, which might not even be insulated.

The infrared heater simply takes too long to do this. Not to mention that it can warm the cold metal in the garage for working on.

In my case, the heater is hanging on the wall and shines on the opposite wall, with the double sink in between.

So where is my mistake?

Insulation doesn't matter at all, because an infrared heater doesn't heat the room but rather irradiates the person standing in front of it, so you no longer feel cold.

And where your mistake lies is also quite clear. You want to heat the room, meaning warm the air, and that's the mistake. Because the infrared heater works by radiation, and that only works over a certain distance. A good example: A farmer's barn uses an infrared lamp to provide enough warmth for the young animals. But this warmth is only in the radiation area and would never heat the entire barn. And it's the same with you. It's warm directly in front of the heater, 2 meters away you hardly notice it anymore. And that's why this kind of heater is not suitable for heating the air.

I also only have infrared heaters in my 80m2 garage. Three electric ones to place around, each with 800 watts, and a gas infrared heater that I use almost exclusively. The electric ones only when we have a party and need to warm the people.

My garage is 3.5m high. I can’t warm it up quickly, and an infrared heater is perfect for such a purpose.

They are actually unsuitable for bathrooms because they don’t heat up the surroundings.

You can also use the infrared heaters outdoors because heating is done by radiation and not primarily the air.

I only have one adapter for the gas bottle for 30 euros. A metal part to put the gas bottle in is a bit handier to move around. But it must not be a BlueFlame, those only heat the air. Although at over 4KW output that is already twice as much as your fan heater.
