Hello,
I would definitely not do without a controlled residential ventilation system in a new building.
What you need to pay attention to is the following:
- The wood stove should have a DIBT certification, a self-closing door, and a room-air-dependent air supply.
- The kitchen exhaust should be a recirculating hood.
If you meet these two conditions, you usually do not need (although depending on the district chimney sweep master) neither a differential pressure monitor for the wood stove nor a window contact switch for the exhaust hood.
Our heating engineer has set our controlled residential ventilation system so that we have a slight overpressure in the house - this as an additional safety measure to prevent smoke gases from entering the house in the event of a possibly leaky wood stove.
Regards,
Dirk
