So I’d rather annoy the neighbors outside in winter than myself inside. But for me, it’s also 5-6m outside to the neighbor’s house and it’s not that loud anyway.

Your neighbor surely sees it the other way around.....
As I said, 6m distance .... whoever has to slap it right in front of the neighbor's terrace should do it differently ...
We will probably place the outdoor unit behind our carport. There is about 7-8m space to the neighbor on the side. And directly in the "fan direction" it is significantly more. I still have concerns.
Yes, to be honest, I have no idea how loud those things are :D Around 55dB according to the technical datasheets. Not exactly quiet, so I'm even leaning towards indoor installation. We have the advantage that the air-water heat pump is supposed to be in our cellar. Usually, it doesn’t bother anyone there and is nicely tucked away :D
Do you want to equip the cellar with special soundproofing? Otherwise, you'll have the noise throughout the whole house. You need soundproof doors and calcium silicate interior walls. Otherwise, it won’t work.

Another advantage of the THZ 504 is, of course, the bafa subsidy for the controlled residential ventilation, since it is integrated. Ah... difficult decision :)
