Hello everyone,

I am a bit heat-damaged. Until now, I have always lived in apartments that heated up quite extremely in summer, even though they were maximally shaded during the day and ventilated vigorously at night. Gone are the good old childhood days in the basement, where it was pleasantly cool in the bedroom even in high summer.

Long story short; of course, I don’t want something like that in my own property. Therefore, air conditioning is an important topic. And my question is, what is the best way to have comfortable temperatures even in high summer?

I read that you can also cool with a heat pump through underfloor heating, although the effect is supposed to be relatively low. It is also said that controlled residential ventilation with heat recovery can be combined with air conditioning, although here too the limits are naturally quite narrow. Lastly, there is the conventional split air conditioning system, which certainly cools nicely but also consumes a lot of electricity. In combination with a solar system on the roof, the electricity costs should still be manageable, since a lot of electricity is available in summer anyway, which you actually can’t use.

What is preferable now in terms of cost and comfort? Perhaps some combination makes sense, for example cooling with a heat pump via underfloor heating and air conditioning through controlled residential ventilation – twice some cooling might be enough in combination. Who has experience and can contribute knowledge and opinions?

Yours

Definitely air conditioning. If you have a problem with heat, you can't do without air conditioning. Everything else is "toys." We have the living room, office, and bedroom air-conditioned. There are very, very stylish solutions today. Costs about 10,000 EUR.

Would it possibly be feasible to elaborate a bit more on these "stylish solutions"?

He only means that the indoor units nowadays look nicer than before... and yes, without a full-fledged air conditioning system it probably won't work...
