Hello everyone,
We are currently considering having blinds installed on our Velux GPU top-hung roof windows afterwards. Until recently, I was convinced that, of course, the Velux SSL solar blinds should be installed. Now our neighbor (who has the same roof windows) has made me somewhat uncertain. Our neighbor had the Heim and Haus roof window solar blinds installed.
He said that the Hamburg blinds are mounted directly on the window and that you can completely open the window and also swing it, so the blind can sometimes be cleaned from the inside. According to Velux support, however, the Hamburg blinds can no longer be swung because the motor would block with Hamburg.
With Velux, the blinds are mounted on the window itself, so the window with the deployed blind can only be opened about 20 cm (according to Velux support). However, if the blind is rolled up, you can open and also swing the window as usual.
I have read in forums on the internet that there are also blinds from, for example, Roto.
My question is now:
Do you perhaps have roof window blinds? Did you install them yourselves or have them installed?
Why did you choose these exact blinds?
If you don’t have roof window blinds but have nevertheless dealt with the matter or are familiar with it, your opinion/experience is also gladly welcome.
Thank you very much. Best regards
