Advantages and disadvantages of roof window shutters?

We have the Velux exterior blinds with solar power and wouldn’t want to miss them in summer anymore. First-class heat protection and complete blackout. They were installed together with the new roof windows by roofers. Without those things, we would have died under the roof last summer.

It’s annoying when they freeze shut in winter, but we only sleep there, so it’s not a big problem.

In my last apartment, I had two skylights, both with Velux shutters (with crank) - in the previous apartment, a skylight with Heim&Haus shutters. Both variants served their purpose. What often bothered me about the Velux ones was that they often couldn’t be moved with a little frost. The Hamburg shutters worked much better in that regard - there had to be snow on them for them to get stuck.

Tomorrow the Velux blinds will be installed; I found a company that installs Velux blinds really cheaply nationwide in Germany.
