Before buying, I would think again whether the areas and the position are also good. I would not want a skylight in the bedroom, even with a roller shutter (noise when it rains). Then snow lies on it for 3-4 months in winter, so no light either. In summer, the roller shutters are always down because otherwise it gets too hot. I always find skylights somewhat problematic in terms of tightness. They are usually placed before vertically standing windows. Electric roller shutters are not to be underestimated with a skylight. One should consider beforehand whether one can still reach the roller shutter to operate it.

That sounds quite cheap in terms of installation? Were those special conditions or is that market standard?

We want three windows, probably 114x140. Costs around 650 euros. However, roller shutters would not yet be included. But we wouldn't need electric ones...

Robson, of course it should be good. We are not fans of "stinginess is cool" either. But depending on the costs, I don't find it objectionable to look at offers from all price segments once... And if all work done via MyHammer were of poor quality, MyHammer probably wouldn't be so popular, right?

Good morning, I have formed an opinion about a few tenders through MH. No specialist ever came, always just "all-rounders." I would just get offers from Velux partners. As with all other things, it is a matter of warranty.

And about the roller shutters: I think they are only available electrically now.

I have also contacted a Velux partner via the Velux website - and yes, it seems the black fabric roller blinds are no longer available... Let's see what costs are quoted to us, I am very curious.

In our old (rented) house, two skylights were retrofitted. It took one day with two people (roofers). Assuming an hourly rate of 40 euros, that's about 20 x 40 = 800 euros. Drywall and painters came the next day, but they weren't busy for long, maybe another 500 euros. When looking at the price of the windows, you need to be aware that in addition to the window, you also need accessories (flashing frame, etc.). There are probably big differences depending on the window size and roof structure. If the new double casement windows fit between the rafters, that's good. However, if you absolutely want to install the 134 cm windows, struts have to be installed, which is a bigger job. I would definitely recommend exterior shutters; at least on the south side, they are even indispensable. Since there are no manual ones anymore, you can just take solar drives, which are probably cheaper and cleaner than laying a cable, depending on the situation on site.
