Hello,
here I am again. After the floor plan is set, we are currently looking for tiles. As you know, we have a narrow bathroom with a two-leaf window. Of course, we don’t want to "crush" the room by choosing the "wrong" floor. Originally, I wanted a dark floor and light tiles on the walls because we currently have white tiles on the floor and everything is very visible on them.
However, we were mostly advised to use a uniform floor for both floor and tiles, as this appears calmer.
We have now discovered a light wood-look tile and could imagine it with white (matte) tiles on the walls (although we don’t want to tile the wall between the shower and the bathtub). But we want to tile everything (except the shower) up to 1.20 meters high, matching the pre-wall installation. With this arrangement, we are unsure whether the sanitary fittings (our beautiful bathtub, sink, etc.) would not get enough attention. (We have decided on a modern shower tray for the shower, which will be installed flush with the floor) (see picture, although there the wall tiles are in a light cream tone).
The alternative would be a brown shade, which would of course provide better contrast with the fittings. For example, we would use a lighter tone for the shelf to set accents. (see two pictures)
What do you think? I am grateful for any advice.
Edit: In the rest of the apartment, parquet (oiled, oak) will probably be installed.
Best regards
