I thought that was clear. He just wanted to use a cable that had already been installed and not necessarily connect it all-pole in the distribution box. I had also advised contacting an electrician.

Nope. If you already give the hint that "green-yellow" is the grounding, you obviously assume that he has no clue at all.

Therefore, it is best: advise the layperson exclusively to get a professional and not give any tips at all. That way you are legally safe in the end.

A nice tip. But unfortunately far from any reality.

Then you also have to get an electrician to replace the light bulb – who, just like for connecting the cable from the OP, usually does not come at all...

Nope. A layperson is also allowed to change a light bulb. Up to 200W and 250V rated voltage.

By the way, if you give tips as an electrician or electrical professional and the layperson then ends up seriously injured, you could be criminally liable... if there are witnesses that you gave advice, you might get into serious trouble.

I am well aware that according to NAV only a registered installation company is allowed to work on cables. Nevertheless, the advice is far from real life. At least in this case.

In real life, unfortunately, people still die because they carry out electrical work for which they are not qualified.

And because professionals give them advice on what they need to do... usually with the remark that it's not all that difficult...

PS: Almost no layperson dares to touch gas pipes, by the way. Why is that? ;)
