That is really a pretty solution to the problem! The only point that comes to mind is heavy rain – don’t you have a risk that all the street water will first happily collect on your property? And where is the sewer’s backflow level?

I would think of Bircorinne regarding the driveway width, cistern, infiltration trench – the last sentence already has more serious implications.

Water still unfortunately does not flow uphill. Therefore, when building a house lower down, you save money by raising the ground level but may have to pump sewage and (even worse) rainwater... And that for a lifetime. So wouldn't it be better to invest once in the earthworks?

I'm also currently thinking about the drainage. However, our site manager and the landscaping contractor are rather relaxed about it because our corner plot is like a wedge that water flows past on the left and right.
