Dear forum members,

we are currently planning our main bathroom on the upper floor of our single-family house. The room will be about 11.5 sqm and will feature a double washbasin, a toilet, preferably slightly hidden, a shower, and a bathtub. The laundry chute at the top right of the plan is also firmly planned (it must be there - utility room underneath). The orientation is (planning drawing): top - north (window), right - east (window). In the non-T plan, the drawing is rotated exactly 180 degrees, sorry :/

Now we have an almost self-created T-solution and an alternative option drawn by the bathroom planner and can't really decide. Time is pressing and I just wanted to hear alternative, anonymous opinions.

Thanks and best regards

I'm not a fan of T Bad at all, but in this case definitely the better solution.

I can't think of a better solution, but I find
a) windows behind the bathtub really difficult to clean (does the window become opaque, or will you always lower the blinds when bathing?)
b) window directly in front of the toilet takes some getting used to. We have that too, I think it's great to just look outside (it's not on the ground floor either!), my husband always lowers the blind. You should keep that in mind beforehand.
P.s.: We also have two windows like that around the corner in the bathroom, it's really bright! But there is of course the possibility of being seen from outside. That doesn't bother me at all, but my roommate is a bit sensitive about it...

Of the two designs, I would prefer the T design. Possibly swap the toilet and shower to better ventilate/dehumidify the shower area with the window.

For me personally, the shower at the T would be way too short, or is there supposed to be a door to prevent tsunamis?

Thank you very much for your answers! That helps us a lot.

Yes, cleaning the window will - not be so nice. You have to stand in the tub... the good thing: if it drips, it drips straight into the tub ;) That would also be the case with any design.

The shower is 1m x 1m in the T-design. A door would come in front of it. We actually deliberately placed it there and did not swap it with the toilet. I find it practical to be quicker to the toilet. This way you have a kind of separation between "cleaning" and the rest ;) The ventilation will hopefully work when airing crosswise or opening the bathtub window?!

Best regards and thanks again!
