There have been quite good reviews about ventilation systems for a long time; however, if the builder wants to find them, he/she has to search a little bit awkwardly. With ventilation systems - whether central or decentralized, there is good money to be made .... the manufacturers’ side knows that and tries to keep the fears and concerns "well hidden." At the same time, every manufacturer recommends regular maintenance of ventilation systems; a knave who thinks badly of that. The often praised tech guru Konrad Fischer, as well as homepages of companies at home and abroad that specialize in the maintenance of small and large ventilation systems, offer good information. Rhineland greetings from the road

We replaced my parents' bathroom exhaust - 28-year-old terraced house - that was rather disgusting. But well - exhaust air mixed with supply air doesn't occur in the ventilation system like that. Otherwise, at the time we watched some YouTube videos about cleaning companies; the pipes weren't catastrophic, but not spotless either. As I said, I would - if I had the choice again - think very carefully about what we do.

Was there a filter in the bathroom exhaust air? In the [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung] there are some, and also in the exhaust valves. This keeps the pipes very, very clean. If you don’t change filters for 28 years, the decentralized [wrl] are probably quite dirty as well. With central ones, there are fewer, so less effort, and cheaper, since you can easily cut meter goods that then last for many years.

The meter goods thing doesn’t work with all Controlled Residential Ventilation systems - with our Helios it does, but for example Danfos wants really expensive filter cartridges. Just wanted to mention that for fairness

Yes, maybe. With many in the neighborhood (e.g. Stiebel heat pump with ventilation) that works too. You just have to be a bit careful when choosing your devices.

When you read the questions about ventilation or building services in general, the type of filters is probably the last thing the builder thinks about

By the way, I didn't pay any attention to that either
