Wood stove "Iron Dog I" .... who knows it?

Why do such inserts - without an "outer casing" - cost just as much as a whole stove WITH casing? ....

Because it's basically a finished stove as well. Only the appearance doesn't match. A high-quality brand insert + the surrounding parts can quickly reach or exceed five figures. That's why often only the complete stove is in the living room.

A wood stove is luxury. And luxury costs. You have to accept that...

You cannot assume hardware store prices. A proper stove from a reputable manufacturer easily costs 3-8K. We have one from Lotus and paid 6.5K including installation.

No question that there are expensive wood stoves. I have no problem with "expensive" if there are understandable reasons. But I find it interesting to make the causes transparent. A Nordpeis Orion costs €800, a glazed Yotul €1130, and there are more from well-known companies that are still NOT that expensive. The backgrounds for this are exciting. :cool: Maybe there are also fireplace inserts that cost less and I just haven't found them yet?

In the meantime, have I found "cheap" fireplace inserts. :)
