Wood stove "Iron Dog I" .... who knows it?

In my search for a "suitable" wood stove, a few have "stuck" as options. They are all small because a stove that is too large would not make sense.

Brunner, Iron Dog 1
Jotul, F 602
Nordpeis, Orion
and Nordpeis, ME Wall

My favorite for the planned use is the "Iron Dog One." However, I can't find a report anywhere on the worldwide internet from someone who owns it.

The chances are probably not good, but I'll try:

Does anyone know it?

My sister has the Brunner, Iron Dog 7 and it is super beautiful and easily heats the 50 sqm living room. I grew up with the Jotul. It is a wonderful classic!

In the meantime, my knowledge - or rather - my questions about a stove have grown.

The Iron Dog does not have a fireclay insert, as far as I know. Allegedly, a fire with cast iron around it does not get as warm as one with fireclay, and that in turn is less favorable for the exhaust gas values...

In the meantime, I am also thinking about an insert for the fireplace. We (my wife sculpts) could design it ourselves and might be freer in the choice of the insert because then the appearance would not matter so much. I wonder at the moment that there are only inserts with at least 8 kW (a stove should not be too small, but above all not too large either. The latter because of the combustion values). Maybe the kW are measured differently there because not only the stove but also the stone around it is heated?

ah ... just got the first response ... thanks. I have found a lot of praise for "Iron Dog," but the Iron Dog ONE does not appear anywhere ... I have also come to really appreciate the construction of the Jotul (upright shoe box) elsewhere. Longer logs fit in there, it is small and effective - and you can heat something on top of it ....

No, but the Brunner models are regularly praised overall.

Who cares about the kW rating? The stove has to appeal. And the heating output depends more on how much you put in and whether the heat is stored. 14 kW works quite well in a rather small room, if only the appearance counts and the heat is simply blown out the chimney

"The stove must appeal"

Yes, ... but a stove that uses more wood ... and throws out more "dirt" than necessary, I just don't like that much ...

but you are right ... you can also exaggerate "it" ;)

.... the temperature also has an impact on the soot on the glass ...

............. that heating has to be so complicated
