Hello,
I bought a terraced house. I have a Wohnriester savings account at Volksbank and wanted to use the balance as equity. The grant office said it was no problem. Then I said I want to continue Riester saving and gladly use the money to repay the house. They said that is not possible. I then asked if I could use the balance on my account after 10 years, they said no, only at the beginning of the term. What I do not understand now is why you make a Wohnriester building savings contract after the purchase if you cannot repay the balance from it or if it only works with a Wohnriester building savings contract and not with a Wohnriester savings account. I no longer understand the world; what is Wohnriester supposed to be good for at all. Who can clarify this for me? Somehow I read the matter completely differently on the internet.
