I can understand that, but I believe that most people, builders, trust that others do their job as well as they do their own. Who among us wants to be constantly checked and treated with mistrust in professional life?

And precisely this trust is exploited mercilessly by a few bad apples. I think that most of the craftsmen involved are honest and sensible people who really put in effort. (but even they sometimes make mistakes, unfortunately). However, just one bad apple among your tradesmen is enough to spoil your fun with the house for a long time and can cost you a lot, a lot of money.

Therefore, I unfortunately have to say that you should first watch the craftsmen on the construction site suspiciously. Even if that means doing 90% of those involved an injustice.

My craftsmen were happy when they could chat with me to clarify questions about plans. It was not uncommon for us to deviate from plans because they had better solutions. No hesitation.

Using a laser distance meter to check measurements in the shell construction, including those of the window openings, should still be feasible.

I am already thinking about how often per week I can show up without the craftsmen feeling suspiciously watched and harassed. Also, I might put up one of those "single-cup coffee machines" since construction electricity and water are available anyway.

You can be there every day if you want. Chatting doesn’t hurt – maybe you’ll meet someone who can do this or that later for a small fee (e.g., for the outdoor facilities – with us, the construction workers who paved the streets did it later). But if you meticulously measure everything daily and immediately question everything, you’ll make yourself unpopular – common sense is enough.

What is sometimes expected here... do misunderstandings or communication mishaps never happen in your jobs? Regardless of whether such things are allowed or not, the bigger the company, the more likely it is that you discuss something with person A and they simply forget to pass it on to person B, or person C receives something different...

An incorrect plan status is also not "unusual," especially when, as a client, you change something more often while you have already started distributing the first plan variants among the people.
