There are builders who are hardly ever on the construction site. Not every general contractor appoints a site manager. Who is supposed to be asked.
Houses nowadays have nothing to do with those from back then. Then there are only 2 house types without changes, then you can expect that everything works and has the appropriate dimensions.
I agree with you, but I also believe that houses (with the first dry stone walls) have been built since 9500 to 8200 BC, and despite changes it should gradually work out by now.
If you complete a three-year training in your trade and work in the field for years/decades, then nothing impossible is demanded, in my opinion.
