I meant that too: however, the window must be supported, and that is not easy... and we only have double glazing.

And now don't tell me that the window unhooked at the top doesn't need support, because I definitely will never want to try that [emoji23]

If I had known that, we wouldn't have taken it!

I imagine it spatially so that there is a desk under the window (the sill height matches this). The top edge of the window with the handle in the middle is roughly at the housewife’s shoulder height. When opened downwards, the window rests with its handle on the desktop. This is not nearly as difficult as if the window had a top edge above head height and a bottom edge above shoulder height over the bed, as in some bedrooms. Perceived weight is always also a question of the height relationship between the center of gravity and the person exerting force.

We have [Stulpfenster] at the top and [Pfosten] at the bottom. The increased light yield of [Stulpfenster] is certainly measurable, but in my opinion not necessarily decisive. The driving rain resistance is better with windows with a central post, but you do have a roller shutter against driving rain. The remaining advantage is that with [Stulpfenster] you might eventually be able to bring in a sofa with a crane. I also tend towards tilt-only for the window shape.

Hello,

thank you for the many contributions. We have now decided on windows with a central mullion and reduced the width to 173 instead of 200. From the outside appearance, it still looks the same – so no measurable loss. By the way, the windows were "a bit" more expensive compared to [Stulp], but the extra cost was waived due to insignificance.

I am now looking forward to the result ....
