Hello everyone,
we have purchased a terraced house built in 1990 and unfortunately already need to replace the old wooden windows. Now the following questions arise: double or triple glazing? It is often said that the wall must insulate better than the window. According to the old building description, our exterior walls are made of 30 cm thick thermal insulation bricks (see photo) and built with thermal insulation mortar. But what is the U-value??? Or would you also insulate the facade before replacing the windows? Can you recommend a window manufacturer with a good price-performance ratio? Currently, we are leaning towards plastic windows. Thank you for your feedback. Best regards
