I would be interested to know if you are aware or assume that the price for your house construction/prefabricated house purchase will increase due to corona. We had negotiated a fixed price guarantee, but if the completion is possibly delayed due to corona, I do not know if we will still receive our house at the agreed price or if the price will be raised. Does anyone among you already know anything regarding your own construction project/prefabricated house purchase?

And something positive: :-) Has anyone among you significantly benefited from the [Mehrwertsteuerreduzierung]?

Thank you for your answers.

There were no price increases due to Corona. But there were delays, especially in March/April. But that was to be expected. We moved in 2 weeks ago. All installments have been paid and the minor things that still need to be done are recorded on the acceptance protocol. Then the final invoice should come soon, on which all paid installments are calculated with 16%. Accordingly, the final invoice will be a credit. That’s the theory so far. Let’s see what comes.

Then I firmly keep my fingers crossed for you that you can treat yourself to something nice for the house/garden with the credit note. :)

We also have a fixed price for the house. The contract states that a change in the VAT rate could affect the price.

There were apparently no corona-related increases. We received an offer at the beginning of the year and an updated one in October, and the prices are the same.

However, we were told (after the signature) that a 3% increase will take effect from Jan. 2021. It was not mentioned that this is due to Corona, but a "normal" development.

But even if it is, hardly anyone seems to care.. The contractor's order book is jam-packed..

Not very classy either. I’m also surprised that this is allowed. I fear it will be similar for us, even though we agreed on a price guarantee.

Don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t apply to us.

For all new contracts from Jan. 21

We were also told that they only told us this after the signature so that we wouldn’t feel pressured.

(Whether that is true remains to be seen)
