Who installs heating systems from the network?

Hello everyone,

the topic of heating is currently very present for us and I am a little desperate. The craftsmen seem to have little experience and mostly just sell the top seller of their own brand. For that, they then charge an 80% price markup plus installation. What I actually want to get to... Who buys the devices on the internet? So far, I have not found a single heating engineer who installs devices that were not purchased from him. I suspect the heating engineers get their devices directly from the manufacturer or wholesaler. But if there are some shops on the net, there must also be a market.

As I said, I am just interested. Sure, some may install their heating themselves, but it can’t be that many.

so long, ck

If you ask the heating engineer whether he also installs third-party materials, the answer is clear.

You will have an easier time if you only commission the heating engineer to execute your finished plans and take him out of the risk for the heat pump. However, if the heat pump is expensive or complicated, I would not do that.

We implemented it this way, maybe it’s an option for you:
Compact unit (Panasonic 5kW, €3,000) bought as "own contribution" and placed outside at your location. The heating engineer built the relatively simple hydraulics and underfloor heating inside according to my plans (internet, separate underfloor heating planner). Kindly, he also connected the two water-carrying pipes from the house to my heat pump and filled the system with water. There were no further points of contact with the heat pump for the heating engineer. Our electrician connected 3-4 cables according to instructions. Done.

Our heat pump is not in the classic heating engineers’ lineup. In case of problems with the heat pump itself, I have no contact person except the nationwide emergency service of the manufacturer. In case of defect >€1000, I buy the heat pump new. For emergencies, I have 2 fan heaters and a heating rod with a Schuko plug in the hot water tank.

Do you also buy your oil at the discount store when you have an oil change on your car and take it to the workshop? I don’t think (hope) so. The workshop wants to sell their oil too, and it seems to be the same with your heating...

I also have the pump. But everything was built and connected by myself. Also not rocket science if you spend some time on it and don't have two left hands.

At the authorized dealer (at least at VW) some do that. After all, you don't buy the oil at a discount store, but branded oil costs significantly less on the open market than what the brand workshop charges for it.

Well, personally I would let you give up. When you go to the butcher, you don’t take your chop along for trimming either ... But to each their own
