I have no idea why I hoped someone here would immediately share something from their own experience...

Here,
House 1: cistern, concrete, 8m3, dirt trap (cleaning once a year) in the gutter at the outlet, no further filters, year of construction 1995, garden pump with suction and pressure hose, never opened works great.
House 2: identical, year of construction 2019, works great.

I did not raise the dead, and since I also have a Mall concrete cistern, I thought I would give my opinion ;-)
5.8m³ concrete cistern (including domestic water system etc.) will have cost about 5K including excavation, installation, backfilling, etc. Watering around 80m² of rolled lawn + beds for just over 2 weeks cost 25m³ on the water meter. So there is no always full water tank in summer. I also assume a very long payback period financially, if at all. Still, I see no error in the decision to go for the cistern. The installation of the cistern was just over a year ago; every domestic water system must already have been manually vented once (pump made noises or switching between municipal water / cistern water did not flow smoothly).

Can you say what kind of cistern you have from Mall? I had posted four versions...

What does your filter look like if you have one?

Hi, I have the "Haus-Paket-Family M Regenspeicher Tano L" I wanted to check out the filter anyway. I’ll take a photo of it in the next few days. It cost €3265.63 gross including delivery and lowering into the excavation on 20.10.2020 at our local building materials dealer. It was significantly cheaper than at Mall themselves (even though they are located right here in town). How do you actually open the lid of the cistern? Do you use a "Kuhfuss" for that or some other special tool?

Then you should have the slot sieve filter, in my post variant 3 ( ).

So I would be very grateful for some pictures soon and your feedback on it. I am currently also prioritizing this filter and from what it sounds like, you haven't cleaned it for a long time, considering that Mall estimates a cleaning interval of 3 months for it.
