Paint from the hardware store cannot be compared with paint from the specialty store (where the painters also buy). Alpina is also sold there (just as an example), yet the Alpina from the specialty store has better/different quality than the one from the hardware store and is not more expensive. There is simply paint for everyone and paint for the professional... Specialty store paint is not tested in trials - why should it be?!

Well ... I just prefer to buy one that has been independently confirmed not to emit any "poison" ... Specialty store is all well and good. Recently, at the acquaintance's place all the drywall panels were removed because the paint smell didn’t go away for weeks and caused headaches. The salesperson at the specialty store said during the consultation that he distances himself from hardware store products like [blauer engel] etc and sells a completely different quality... kindergarten and so on he said. Well then. Cheers. Everyone just has their own experiences

What does the quality of paint from the specialty store, which a qualified painter also uses, have to do with drywall???

If you have had experiences with the corresponding paint, you are welcome to report, otherwise your comment on the topic of experiences is probably now irrelevant

The plates were removed because that paint was on them. Very annoying and expensive for him ... but who wants headaches? I no longer know what color it was... nothing well known

Which "this"??

I am talking about ordinary dispersion paint - if you yourself have unprofessionally applied some nonsense, it is not the purpose of this thread to mislead it with that.
That’s like comparing apple pie with PEARS, beans + bacon comparison
Basically, I reject DIY store paint for wall design (newly built walls and ceiling coatings, as the OP needs). Period. Those who have experience with both know what I mean

Wall areas that were already white before and are not completely yellowed, I will definitely paint with "medium-cheap" hardware store paint when moving out. That is more than enough. In our new concrete basement, however, we tested very cheap paint for €0.8 / liter and paint from the specialist shop for €4.5 / liter. Of course, that was no comparison, and on the ground floor and attic we will use exclusively good (=expensive) paint. In the end, with the same coverage, it costs about the same and saves a lot of work...
