This is what it's about. The OP was recommended red or gold tape by his painter. Sebastian claimed that gypsum plaster above cement plaster must end in a disaster. In the context of turnkey construction, the client must, in my opinion, be able to rely unconditionally on the contractor.
My statement, quoted by you, referred to the circumstance and later in the thread the basis, that clients plaster their walls with EL and paint them. Then I may also assume that clients proceeding this way inform themselves about the possible consequences of their actions in advance.
Correct!The contractor basically owes a defect-free house
No. But this is supposed to change soon with the upcoming amendment to contract law.and it is solely his responsibility to create a suitable construction schedule (including drying times, if necessary).
Drying times of the screed can indeed be accelerated by using chemicals (e.g., from Lanxess®; but please don’t ask me for the exact name, I would have to plead ignorance). What do you think, how else does the red colleague competitor manage to keep to his advertised 3-month construction time including drying times? To what extent does chemistry accelerate drying? Different solvent instead of water? IMHO, one can only influence the setting behavior (e.g., of a screed). The drying time mainly depends, in my opinion, on the external conditions.
