Hey,
I would like to buy a Pax...
It has to be 350cm wide. I want sliding doors.
I’m struggling with how to divide it. Currently, there is a self-built cabinet with a curtain instead of sliding doors in that spot. The left side belongs to me, the right side to my beloved. On the left is the room door, which partially covers the left part of the cabinet when the door opens. Currently, on the far left we have a 50cm compartment for bed linens etc. Then 50cm for me (socks, underwear, pajamas), then 1m for me (clothes rail, pants, T-shirts, sweaters). Then 50cm and 100cm for my wife, arranged similarly to mine. Which sliding doors should I put in front if I want to keep this division? Which sliding door widths should I choose so that we don’t “bump into each other” when we take “laundry” out of the cabinet at the same time...?

I also wanted to install lighting; which one should I take so that the light turns on automatically when you open the door...?

Regards

Hello...

how about a visit to the Ikea you trust ... They surely have some good ideas  ... I think so, but I don't know if they are familiar with bedrooms... :D :D :D :D :D

Hello,

so with 350cm there are actually only 2 possibilities:

either you take a 300cm sliding door and then only one of you can open their door at a time.

or you take two 150cm sliding doors, install them over your 50cm and 100cm wardrobe and the same for your wife.
that way you won't get in each other's way when opening the doors.

In both cases, your 50cm wardrobe for bedding remains with a curtain or a normal door, because the Pax sliding doors are only available up to a maximum of 300cm (you could then place this one in the middle so that the part is "framed" by both your wardrobes)

Hope that helps you ;)

Hello everyone,
...honestly. Until today, I have never caught an Ikea employee who truly took my concerns to heart. Maybe tomorrow?
...I just downloaded the assembly instructions for sliding doors and the carcass. Nice thing that. Uh oh, I have to buy a drill first....
I was thinking of a sliding door element with 2m and one with 1.5m. Does that look like something?
